Both the Rockwall High School boy’s and girl’s varsity soccer teams fought for everything they achieved this season, both earning the title of District Champions.

While the boy’s earned their third district championship in the last five seasons, the girls varsity stormed through district undefeated, and impressively allowed only one goal in 14 games.

Unfortunately both of the teams season came to an end on March 31st.

The boy’s season ended at the hands of a very fast-paced Sachse team, but despite the loss, the Jackets were rightfully proud of their success this year.

“It was a great season because last year we didn’t make it to playoffs and this year we rallied back and made it to playoffs and got first in district,” said Colin Burgiel, RHS senior and varsity goalie.

The varsity girl’s season came to a heart-breaking close in an intense game with Naaman Forest in the second round of playoffs. After playing to a 2-2 tie, the Ladyjackets fell short in a shoot-out.

Both teams are looking forward to next season, and the future looks promising for each.
