In a game that wasn’t decided until late in the fourth quarter, the Rockwall Yellowjackets (9-3) defeated Dallas Jesuit (10-2) by a score of 38-27 to capture their second consecutive area title last Friday night. It was the third straight area-round match-up between the two schools.

Senior running back Caleb Broach had another standout game, rushing for 166 yards on 21 carries along with three touchdowns.

Junior Sam Crawford had a strong night as well, hauling in six catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns, both on passes from senior QB Will Reed.

Sophomore receiver Cameron Crayton added five receptions of his own on the night.

On the defensive side of the ball, seniors Luke Termin and James Taylor combined for 22 tackles.

With both teams exchanging the lead throughout all four quarters, Jesuit had a chance to pull ahead again, down four with a little over three minutes left. However, an incredible punt by senior Jake Viquez forced them to start the drive from their own one-yard line. At that point, the Jacket defense stood firm, forcing Jesuit to punt, and another touchdown run by Broach eventually sealed the game.

Up next, the Jackets travel to Waco to face Spring in the Class 6A Division II regional semifinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
