The Rockwall High School swim team finished second place overall at the Rockwall invitational Saturday with a total of 601.5 points. The Lady Jackets finished fourth in the final girls’ rankings and the Rockwall boys placed second.

Amanda Armstrong set a new Rockwall High School record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.43, but swim coach Paul Wallace wasn’t too surprised.

“Coming into this week we knew she was close to the record and she has been working exceptionally hard,” stated Wallace.

Armstrong also brought home another first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, but she wasn’t the only Rockwall swimmer to garner a first place finish.

Emma Hultquist won the 100-yard free style and the girls 400 freestyle relay, along with Janelle Hummingbird, Kayla Maxwell, and Armstrong.

On the boys team, Mitchell Eldridge placed second in the 100-yard freestyle while Dean Manasco finished second in the 100-yard breast stroke.
